8 Factors That Affect Your Cannabis High
Consuming cannabis brings on an enjoyable, relaxing high that’ll heighten your mood, enhance your senses, and relax your body. However, while it’s likely that pretty much everyone will experience these effects after smoking a joint or hitting a Bong, there are many factors that affect your cannabis high.
Cannabis hits everyone differently. That means that even if you and your friend smoke the same amount of the same strain at the same time, the effects of cannabis might hit one of you harder than the other. Even when it comes to personal use, you might feel more high one day than the next depending on a variety of factors.
It helps to know about the factors that can impact how high you get. For some users, it can help them manage their high to avoid unwanted side effects. Of course, you might also want to use these factors to your advantage if you have a high tolerance and want to get extra high. Here are 8 of the main factors that affect your cannabis high.
1. How Much You Consume
One of the most obvious yet important factors that can affect your cannabis high is how much you consume. Beginner users often make the mistake of smoking too much before they’ve built up a tolerance to cannabis, which can quickly result in an overwhelming high. Even experienced users sometimes smoke more than they should.
Although it can be tempting to overindulge when you’re smoking weed, it’s best to take it easy. If you’re rolling a joint, try not to use more weed than you need to get high. The same applies to packing the bowl of a Bong or Pipe. When you’re smoking, smoke as much as you need to get on a good level then stop until you feel you need more.
The same applies to other methods of consumption. For example, if you’re vaping Cannabis Concentrates then start with a small amount to gauge your tolerance. If you’re using Cannabis Edibles or Tinctures, then start with a small dose of around 10mg before you try taking more. This is especially important as these products can get you extremely high.
Once you know your limits, it becomes much easier to control how high you’ll get. As such, seasoned smokers will be much better at controlling their dosage to ensure they get the perfect high without overdoing it.
2. How Fast You Consume
It isn’t just how much cannabis you smoke, vape, or eat that’ll affect how high you get. How fast you consume it can also make a significant difference. Even if you roll a small joint, smoking all of it quickly can result in you getting high out of your mind within a few minutes.
It’s best to take time between hits to avoid getting too high. For instance, if you’re smoking a joint, take your time between each puff. If you’re vaping marijuana, then take one hit at a time and stop once you feel high enough. Even if you’re using a particularly flavorful strain, it’s best to avoid going too fast.
While smoking or vaping quickly can have an impact on how high you get, holding in your hits for longer won’t make a difference. Despite popular belief, most THC is absorbed within a couple of seconds. A 1989 study found that holding a hit for 10 or 20 seconds made no discernible difference to the intensity of the effects.
You should also keep in mind that different products can take longer to hit you. For instance, while the effects of smoking or vaping weed generally hit you within seconds, the effects of Cannabis Edibles can take 30-90 minutes to kick in. As such, you’ll want to avoid eating more before the effects hit you.
3. The Product You Use
Another one of the biggest factors that’ll affect how high you get is the exact product you use. Marijuana now comes in a wide variety of forms, and each will hit you differently. Not only that, but each product comes in various strains, brands, and potencies, all of which can make a difference to your high.
When it comes to using Cannabis Flower, each strain is different. For instance, indica strains are said to give you more of a physically soothing high, sativa strains are said to be more mentally uplifting, and hybrid strains usually offer a balance of both. Strains also differ in how potent they are, meaning some will hit you harder than others.
Other types of products also have major differences. For example, Cannabis Concentrates have much higher levels of THC than Cannabis Flower and, as such, even a small amount can give you a seriously strong high. Each type of concentrate is also different. For example, Shatter is generally much more potent than Hash or Kief.
Every type and strain of cannabis product will hit you differently, so it helps to know what you’re getting into. If you’re looking for a milder high, then opt for milder strains of Cannabis Flower. Those who want a stronger high might be better served by products like Concentrates and Edibles.
4. The Method Of Consumption
No matter what kind of cannabis product you use, the method of consumption you use can also make a difference. When it comes to smoking and vaping weed, your experience can differ based on the device you use. There are also alternative methods of consumption, such as eating Cannabis Edibles.
Smoking Cannabis Flower in a joint is one of the most popular options, especially as you can buy Pre-Rolls for extra convenience. With that said, some users find that smoking their ground weed with a Glass Pipe, Bubbler or Bong leads to harder-hitting effects. According to research, vaping Cannabis Flower can offer even stronger effects.
Cannabis Concentrates can also be used in various ways. For instance, some users mix them with weed in a joint or bowl for a hard-hitting high. However, using a Concentrate Vaporizer will make your cannabis high stronger. You can also use Cannabis Concentrates with a Dab Rig, which offers some incredibly intense and powerful hits.
Using Cannabis Drinks or Edibles can also offer a significantly different experience to other methods of consumption. When you consume cannabis orally, your body converts THC into a stronger form. While you’ll have to wait longer for the effects to kick in, they’re much stronger than smoking cannabis. The high will also last for much longer- usually anywhere between 4-12 hours.
5. Frequency Of Use
Another major factor that impacts how high you’ll get from using cannabis is how frequently you use it. While your tolerance for cannabis depends on a variety of factors, how often you use it is arguably the biggest contributor. In other words, those who use cannabis less will likely be hit harder by its effects.
The first few times you use cannabis, it won’t take much to get high. Many users won’t even need a full joint to feel the intense effects of THC. However, your body will begin to build a tolerance to the effects of cannabis. As such, you’ll soon find that you need to use more to get to the same level.
Those who smoke weed frequently often have a hard time getting as high as they want. As time goes on, the same things that used to get you extremely high will begin to feel milder. When it gets to this point, you usually have to smoke more, use a stronger product, or even try a different method of consumption.
In contrast, those who only smoke occasionally won’t notice a significant difference in their tolerance to weed. Some can even smoke or vape the same amount and still get just as high provided they don’t do it too often. Sometimes, those with high tolerance levels even take a break from using cannabis for a while to reset their tolerance.
6. Your Surroundings
The kind of experience you’ll get when using cannabis can also vary significantly depending on your environment. The best approach is to get high somewhere where you feel comfortable and at ease, as this will result in a much more positive high. Adversely, getting high when you feel anxious or nervous can result in an uncomfortable high.
When you use cannabis, it enhances your mood and senses. If you’re in a good mood before you smoke, you’ll likely feel better after and vice versa. That’s why it always helps to pick the right surroundings before you start using cannabis.
Some users find that they have a better experience when using cannabis around friends. Having people to talk to and laugh with can often have a positive impact on your mood. However, introverted users may find that they have a better experience when they smoke alone at home.
You might even want to make some changes to ensure that your surroundings are as comfortable as possible. For instance, putting on some of your favorite music or a TV show before you get high can make for a better experience. Sometimes all you need is some air conditioning and a few cushions to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.
7. Cannabinoids and Terpenes
When you smoke, vape, or use cannabis in any other way, it isn’t the plant itself that gets you high. Cannabis contains a wide range of cannabinoids and terpenes that are absorbed into your system when you ingest it. These compounds are responsible for the kinds of effects you’ll experience.
The sole psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis is THC. This is the chemical that gets you high by interacting with your body and brain. Cannabis strains and products with higher levels of THC will hit you harder than those with lower levels and, as such, it’s important to check the THC levels of your chosen product before you use it.
Other cannabinoids can also have an impact. For instance, CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that’s said to tame the effects of THC and enhance its benefits. Strains and products with higher levels of CBD are said to counteract some of the side effects of THC, such as anxiety and paranoia. CBD is even extracted and used in standalone CBD products for those who don’t want to get high.
Terpenes are aromatic oils that can be found in all plants, including cannabis. Each cannabis strain has a different makeup of terpenes and these are what give each strain its unique aroma and taste. Terpenes also work in conjunction with cannabinoids to enhance their benefits and provide an entourage effect.
8. Food and Drink
Much like with alcohol, consuming cannabis on an empty stomach can result in stronger effects. This stands to reason since being hungry or thirsty can result in you feeling lightheaded and lethargic. However, research also suggests that THC is absorbed quicker when you consume cannabis on an empty stomach.
A 2012 study compared the effects of a THC/CBD spray on both fasted and fed subjects. The study found that the cannabinoids were absorbed quicker by those who hadn’t had anything to eat or drink. What’s more, food seemed to delay the time to peak concentration by up to 2 and a half hours.
Water can also have a significant impact. Being dehydrated can impact your mood and make you feel less physically energetic. If you get high without drinking anything, you’ll likely feel much more sedated and might even experience increased anxiety. Water also helps counteract dry mouth- a common side effect of cannabis.
It’s best to stay hydrated before, during, and after getting high. However, those who want harder-hitting effects might want to wait until they’re high to eat. After all, eating is even more enjoyable when you’re high, and certain foods such as mangoes and chocolate can even enhance the effects of cannabis.
Conclusion
Each time you get high, the experience can differ significantly depending on factors such as the product used, how much you use, your chosen method of consumption, and even your surroundings. Whether you’re looking for stronger or milder effects, keep these factors in mind next time you’re planning to get high.

How to Plant Cannabis Seeds Indoors
The good news for marijuana lovers is that it’s now easier than ever to get all the high-quality weed they need. Marijuana users in certain states can now order weed online and, in some cases, you can even grow marijuana yourself. While there are numerous approaches to growing, the best for beginners is to learn how to plant cannabis seeds indoors.
You’ll need to be aware of the rules and limitations that come with growing marijuana at home. Each state has rules on who can legally grow and how much you can grow- which is usually limited to a few plants in each home. However, if you’re legally able to grow weed yourself, it’s well worth learning about indoor growing as you can end up with an impressive stash of homegrown weed.
Growing indoors is the best option for beginners as it allows you to control the growing conditions of your plants, which is especially useful for those who live in states where the weather is often unpredictable or unsuitable for growing. It’s also surprisingly easy to grow quality plants, provided you know how to treat your plants. Here’s a guide on how to plant cannabis seeds indoors.
What You Need Before You Start Growing Indoors
Before planting any cannabis seeds, it’s important to ensure that you have everything you need for growing. Of course, you’ll need plant containers and soil. You’ll also need to provide your plants with certain nutrients to ensure they grow as successfully as possible. To plant cannabis seeds indoors, you’ll also need equipment that allows you to control the temperature, light, and humidity your plants are subjected to.
Artificial lights are used for controlling the light your plants get. Growers usually use either LED, HID, or CFL lighting when it comes to growing marijuana plants indoors. LED lighting is recommended for indoor growing, especially as LED lights are energy-efficient and don’t emit excessive heat.
You’ll also need to invest in air conditioning to keep your plants at an appropriate temperature. Although you can use windows or air conditioning units for this, the cheapest option is to use small fans. You can even get clip-on fans to use for your plants. You should also have a dehumidifier to keep your growing space at the ideal relative humidity (RH).
You might want to use nutrient-enriched “super-soil” to ensure your plants get the nutrients they need. Alternatively, you can water your plants using water that’s been infused with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
Ideally, you should have an enclosed growing space for your plants. Some users use a grow tent or even a grow box, making it easier to control the temperature and light for small growing operations. Alternatively, you can use a closet, the corner of a room, or even an entire spare room if you have space.
Types Of Cannabis Seeds
Buying cannabis seeds can be confusing for beginners, especially as there are multiple types of seeds. Not only can you find seeds for various strains, but seeds are available in either regular or feminized varieties. You can also get auto-flowering seeds, either regular or feminized. Here’s a breakdown of the types of cannabis seeds.
Regular seeds – When you buy cannabis seeds labeled as “regular seeds,” it means that your plants may be either male or female. It’s important to note that female cannabis plants grow THC-rich marijuana flowers whereas male plants don’t. Male plants can sometimes pollinate female plants and prevent them from growing marijuana, so growers often avoid these.
Feminized seeds – Feminized cannabis seeds are ideal for marijuana growers as they have been genetically enhanced to ensure that 95% of them will produce female plants. This gives growers peace of mind that they’ll end up with THC-rich female cannabis plants and that their growing operation won’t be ruined by too many male plants.
Autoflowering seeds – Autoflowering seeds are enhanced seeds made by crossing indica or sativa cannabis plants with cannabis ruderalis plants. These seeds inherit the fast growth of ruderalis plants along with the effects of the indica or sativa plant used, resulting in seeds that can grow impressive cannabis plants within 8-10 weeks.
You can usually find cannabis seeds in seed banks or cannabis stores. You can also buy cannabis seeds online for convenient home delivery.
How To Germinate Your Cannabis Seeds
To ensure that your plants grow as successfully as possible, you’ll want to germinate your cannabis seeds before planting them. Germinating your seeds causes them to sprout and begin developing before you transfer them to a plant pot or container. Luckily, it’s easy to germinate your seeds with a few household items.
All you’ll need to germinate your seeds is a couple of dishes and some paper towels. Soak two sheets of paper towels and place them on a dish. Place your seeds on top of these paper towels, spreading them out to give them plenty of space. You can then soak two more sheets of paper towels and place them on top. Finally, put another dish over the top to sandwich the seeds.
You can leave the seeds at room temperature and check on them every couple of days to see if they’ve germinated. You’ll know your seeds have germinated when a small root sprouts through the surface. Some seeds will germinate faster than others and you might want to apply extra water when the paper towels become too dry.
Once all of your seeds have germinated, you can transfer them to your plant pots or containers. This involves making holes around a quarter-inch deep into the soil to apply each seed. It’s best to use tweezers for this as germinated seeds are sensitive. Keep these containers in a warm area and spray them with water- within a week you’ll notice a seedling sprouting.
How To Grow Your Cannabis Plants Indoors
After you’ve germinated your seeds and they’ve begun to sprout seedlings, you’ll want to transfer them to your growing area. This usually involves placing them in containers in a grow box, grow tent, closet, or a space in your room where you can control the heat, light, and humidity.
For the first four to six weeks of growing your plants, you’ll want to give them around 18 hours of light a day. It’s best to do this with artificial LED or HID lighting. You can either use timers for your lights or manually turn them off after 18 hours. You should water your plants when the soil becomes dry- check this by placing your finger around 2 inches into the soil.
You’ll also want to measure the temperature of your growing area and keep it at around 70-75°F. Humidity levels should start at around 60-70%, but you can lower the humidity by around 5% each week. Using air conditioning fans and a dehumidifier can help you control these conditions.
When your plants start to flower, you’ll need to lower the levels of light, heat, and humidity. Give them around 12 hours of light each day and keep the temperature at around 65-70°F. You’ll also want to lower the humidity to around 40-50%. You can lower the temperature and humidity further around 1-2 weeks before harvest.
It can take around 2-3 months until your plants are ready to harvest. How long they’ll take largely depends on the strain, the type of seed used (autoflowering seeds will grow quicker), and the conditions they’re exposed to.
When To Harvest Your Plants
It’s important to regularly check your plants so you know when they’re ready to harvest. Although it can take a few months for your plants to fully mature, you can check how close they are to being ready by examining the bulbous trichomes and pistils (hairs) on the flowers of your plant.
After your plants have begun to flower, you’ll want to regularly examine the flowers using a magnifying glass to get a closer look at the trichomes and pistils. At first, the trichomes will look cloudy and translucent. This indicates that they haven’t developed many cannabinoids and need more time to develop.
As the trichomes develop, they start to become cloudy. At this point, your cannabis buds will be rich in cannabinoids and will produce a smooth and stimulating high. It’s a good idea to harvest your plants when the trichomes have become cloudy and around 60-70% of the hairs on your cannabis flowers have darkened.
Some growers prefer to wait longer. When the trichomes start to turn amber, they’ll be at the peak of their THC production. This is also a great time to harvest. Just make sure not to leave it for too long or you’ll lose some of the THC.
It’s also important not to harvest your buds too early as this gives less time for the cannabinoids and terpenes to develop and will leave you with weak and unsatisfying buds.
Harvesting Your Plants
Once your plants are ready to harvest, you’ll need to trim the plants until you’re left with just the THC-rich cannabis buds. You’ll then need to dry them and cure them before using them. Drying them will ensure that they’re ready to smoke or vape whereas curing helps bring out the full potential of your buds.
Start by trimming the stems of your plants away until you’re left with just the buds. It’s best to use small trimmers or even scissors for this, and wear gloves to avoid contaminating the plants. Once you have your cannabis buds, you’ll need to dry them either by placing them on a dry rack or hanging them on a line.
It’s best to leave your buds in a dedicated drying area or room where you can control the humidity and temperature. Keep the area at around 70°F with a humidity level of 45-55%. Give them a week or two to dry out. You’ll know they’re ready when the buds become slightly paler and the stems are brittle enough to snap with your fingers.
After drying your buds, you might want to cure them for a few weeks. This will enhance their potency and flavor. Start by filling airtight glass jars with your dried cannabis buds until they’re nearly full. Leave the containers in a cool, dry place and “burp” the containers around once a day for 30 minutes to release excess oxygen. After a couple of weeks, you’ll only need to burp the containers every few days.
Curing your buds for around 2-4 weeks is usually enough to give you satisfying results. However, some users like to cure their buds for a few extra weeks or even months to make them even more potent and flavorful. You may want to take out a small amount of weed when you need it and leave the rest to continue curing.
Is Growing Cannabis Seeds Indoors Better Than Outdoors?
When it comes to growing cannabis seeds, growers can choose between growing indoors or outdoors. Growing outdoors requires less effort and might even seem better for some users, but indoor growing is generally recommended for most growers.
Outdoor growing is suitable for certain strains, especially if you live somewhere with a good climate. However, in many cases, you’ll have to compete with unpredictable weather conditions as well as the possibility of pests or other outside forces ruining your plants.
In contrast, indoor growing allows you to control the exact conditions your plants are exposed to. Not only will this prevent various hazards from ruining your plants, but you can also make your plants grow faster this way.
Although you’ll need to invest in some growing equipment, indoor growing is easy and efficient once you get the hang of it. After your first grow, you’ll want to buy more cannabis seeds to continue growing satisfying cannabis plants.
Conclusion
Growing cannabis indoors is a great idea for anyone who wants to enjoy homegrown weed. You’ll need to invest in some growing equipment and buy cannabis seeds, but you can grow a satisfying stash of weed in the comfort of your home.
Of course, growing cannabis isn’t the best idea for everyone, especially as it can take a few months. Fortunately, it’s easier than ever to get all the high-quality cannabis you need at affordable prices. How To Make the Best Cannabis-Infused Drinks
Cannabis Edibles are now among the most sought-after cannabis products for users. However, using Edibles is often inconvenient as they can take a while to kick in and the effects take even longer to wear off. Luckily, Cannabis Beverages are a great alternative and you can even learn how to make the best cannabis-infused drinks at home.
Cannabis-infused drinks work a lot like Edibles. You consume them orally, as you would any other drink, and after around 30 minutes you’ll feel the effects of cannabis. They work faster than Edibles and the effects don’t last as long, making them arguably much more convenient- as well as delicious and refreshing. So how do you make them? Here are some of the best cannabis-infused drinks you can make right now.
How To Make Cannabis-Infused Milk
If you want to make some of the best cannabis-infused drinks, then it’s worth making cannabis milk first. Not only can you drink cannabis milk by itself, but you can also infuse it into all kinds of other drinks, including hot drinks, milkshakes, smoothies, and more. It’s also quite simple to make compared to other cannabis-infused condiments, just make sure you use full-fat milk.
Ingredients:
- 500ml of full-fat milk
- 2 grams of cannabis buds
Step 1: Start by boiling plenty of water in a saucepan and placing a steel bowl inside to create a double boiler.
Step 2: Next, add your milk and cannabis to the steel bowl. You’ll want to use around 0.5-1 gram of cannabis for every 250ml of milk you use, although you can use more or less depending on how potent you want it to be. Break the cannabis into buds before adding it.
Step 3: Allow the milk to boil (this usually takes around 15 minutes) then lower the temperature and leave it to simmer for 2-3 hours while stirring occasionally. It’s important not to let your cannabis buds boil for long as this will reduce their potency.
Step 4: After leaving your milk to boil for 2-3 hours, slowly strain it into a sealable jar or container through a cheesecloth. This separates the milk from the leftover cannabis. You can then place your container in the fridge and use your potent cannabis milk when you need it.
How To Make Cannabis-Infused Coffee
Want to start your morning with a kick of caffeine and the soothing effects of cannabis? You can do so by making cannabis-infused coffee. You might want to make cannabis coffee by adding a small dose of cannabis-infused milk to a regular cup of coffee, but this method is arguably even simpler.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of water
- Coffee granules
- Milk
- Cannabis Tincture
Step 1: Start by brewing a cup of coffee as you normally would. One of the simplest ways to do so is to boil 3 cups of water, add coffee granules, and stir, but you can also make it using a coffee machine or any other method you want.
Step 2: Add your milk and any other additions you want to your coffee. Now, simply allow your coffee to cool down slightly before adding Cannabis Tincture.
Step 3: Add your desired dose of Cannabis Tincture Oil to your cup of coffee and stir thoroughly. THC Tinctures will add the effects of cannabis to your coffee, but you can also use CBD Tincture if you want to avoid these effects. A dose of around 15 mg of Tincture is good for most users.
Step 4: Tinctures are designed to mix into other liquids with ease, so after stirring, your potent cannabis coffee is ready. You can also use this method to make cannabis-infused tea or hot chocolate.
How To Make Cannabis-Infused Lemonade
While Cannabis Milk is great for smoothies and milkshakes and Cannabis Coffee or Tea is perfect for waking up in the morning, cannabis-infused lemonade is arguably the most refreshing cannabis beverage you can make. This will help soothe your body and relax your mind while also providing a refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of lemon juice
- 5 cups of cold water
- 200 grams of sugar
- Cannabis Tincture
- A few ice cubes
Step 1: First, juice your lemons into a bowl or container. You can do this by hand or use an electric juicer to make the process simpler. Around 6-8 lemons should give you around 2 cups or 500ml of lemon juice.
Step 2: Mix your lemon juice with the sugar and water in a pitcher and stir thoroughly until the sugar dissolves. You should use around 5 cups of water and 200 grams of sugar for 2 cups of lemon juice, although you might want to experiment with different proportions.
Step 3: You can now add a few drops of Cannabis Tincture to your lemonade and stir thoroughly. You might want to add this to a single cup of lemonade rather than to the whole pitcher to make controlling your dosage easier.
You can also make cannabis syrup by boiling decarboxylated cannabis buds with sugar and water. This can then be added to your lemonade mixture for a potent cannabis-infused lemonade. However, this method is more time-consuming than simply using THC or CBD Tincture.
Conclusion
Whether you’re looking for a delicious cannabis-infused hot drink to wake you up in the morning or a refreshing, summer’s day drink that’ll hit you with all kinds of amazing effects, these are some of the best cannabis-infused drinks to make. They’re simple enough for anyone to make and you’ll be impressed by the results.
There are also plenty of other options for those looking to make Cannabis Beverages. For instance, you might want to infuse your favorite smoothies with some Cannabis Milk. You might want to add some Cannabis Tincture to your favorite juice or soda. You can even make cannabis-infused cocktails.
You might also want to consider other options. For instance, some users prefer using Edibles to Cannabis Drinks, and you can also try Cannabis Vapes, Topicals, Concentrates, and much more. If you’re in D.C., you can find every cannabis product you need for delivery at Purple Penthouse.Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabis, EdiblesLeave a commenton How To Make the Best Cannabis-Infused Drinks
How do Cannabis Drinks Compare to Traditional Edibles?
Cannabis Edibles have become one of the most popular choices for users looking to get the effects of cannabis. These cannabis-infused food products give users an easy and enjoyable way to medicate, although they can also take a long time to kick in and can be overwhelming for beginner users. Luckily, there’s another great alternative in Cannabis Drinks.
Much like Edibles, Cannabis Drinks allow you to get the effects of cannabis via oral consumption. All you have to do is to swig on a cannabis-infused drink and wait for the potent effects of cannabis to kick in. However, there are some key differences between these two product types and the kind of experience they’ll give you. So how do Cannabis Drinks compare to traditional Edibles? Here’s what you need to know.
Cannabis Drinks Can Get You High Faster Than Edibles
Many users prefer using Cannabis Edibles to other options such as smoking or vaping weed as they’re easier to use and offer a more enjoyable experience. However, the main drawback of using Cannabis Edibles is that it can take up to 2 hours before you even feel their effects. As such, they’re far from ideal for those who want potent, fast-acting effects.
Cannabis Drinks largely solve this problem. When you eat cannabis-infused food products, your body must first process the food and digest it before the cannabinoids make their way into your system. This process is much quicker when you use Cannabis Drinks as liquids are metabolized faster.
That doesn’t mean that you’ll feel the effects of Cannabis Drinks instantly, but you won’t have to wait as long as you would with Edibles. The effects of Cannabis Drinks often kick in about 30 minutes after consumption, and some types of cannabis-infused beverages might even kick in faster.
The Effects Of Cannabis Drinks Wear Off Faster
Since your body processes liquid products faster than solid food products, Cannabis Drinks are great for users who want to get high quicker. However, while they’ll give you the effects of cannabis quicker than Edibles, it’s also worth noting that the effects of Cannabis Drinks usually don’t last as long.
Cannabis Edibles are known for inducing a particularly long-lasting high. Generally, the effects of Edibles can last for anywhere from 4-12 hours. This makes them a good choice for users who want powerful and long-lasting effects, but it isn’t always ideal.
Although some users may enjoy being high for so long, others prefer a shorter-lasting high. Cannabis Drinks are ideal for this. Although they’ll still give you strong effects, the effects generally don’t last as long as Edibles. This makes them great for users who want a more manageable high.
It’s Easier To Control Your Dosage With Cannabis Drinks
Cannabis Edibles are known for producing much stronger effects than you’d get from smoking or vaping weed. This is because, when THC is consumed orally, your body converts it into 11-hydroxy-THC, a stronger form of the chemical. As such, even a 10mg dosage of Edibles can give you a powerful high.
Although this is beneficial for users who want strong effects, it can also make it hard to control your dosage. Since Edibles take so long to kick in, many users end up eating more than they should. What’s more, sometimes a single cannabis gummy or chocolate is enough to get you extremely high, and many users make the mistake of eating more.
In contrast, it’s easier to control your dosage when you use Cannabis Drinks. A large Cannabis Beverage can be infused with just a small amount of THC, allowing you to drink plenty without worrying about getting too high. Plus, since the effects kick in quicker and wear off faster, you can decide whether you need to increase your dosage without having to wait for hours.
There Are Many Types Of Cannabis Drinks
Cannabis Edibles come in various forms. For instance, you can find cannabis-infused gummies, chocolate bars, and all kinds of baked goods like cookies and brownies. Similarly, you can also choose between many different types of Cannabis Drinks depending on what suits you the best.
Those who want a cool and refreshing Cannabis Drink can try cannabis-infused fruit juices or smoothies. Not only are these delicious, but they’re cool, refreshing, and the terpenes in fruits can even enhance the effects of cannabinoids.
Some users prefer cannabis-infused hot drinks. For instance, Cannabis Tea is a particularly popular type of cannabis-infused beverage that’s potent and easy to make. You could even try Cannabis Coffee or THC-infused Hot Chocolate.
These are some of the more common options but practically any beverage can be infused with cannabis. You could even try cannabis cocktails if you’re feeling adventurous.
Cannabis Drinks Are Easier To Make Than Edibles
One of the biggest problems with making Cannabis Edibles is that the process is tricky and time-consuming. It generally involves decarboxylating your cannabis in the oven before infusing it into butter and, only after that, you can infuse it into your favorite meals or baked goods. In contrast, Cannabis Drinks are much easier to make.
There are numerous ways to make Cannabis Drinks, but it’s generally much easier than cooking Cannabis Edibles. For instance, you can make Cannabis Tea by brewing decarbed cannabis buds in hot water before adding tea, but there’s also an even easier method.
Using Cannabis Tincture is the easiest way to make all kinds of Cannabis Drinks. Simply measure your dosage and mix it into your juice, smoothie, coffee, cocktail, or any other beverage you want. You can buy Cannabis Tinctures and other cannabis products from a cannabis delivery service.
Conclusion
Cannabis Drinks and Cannabis Edibles are both great choices for users who want alternatives to smoking or vaping weed. They’re easy and fun to consume and can also give you a phenomenal high, but you might prefer Cannabis Drinks for a few reasons.

Weed Measurements Guide: Marijuana Quantities, Weights & Prices
Getting involved in the wide, wide world of cannabis for the first time, can be an incredibly daunting experience. Just glancing at a dispensary menu you are bombarded with the sudden need to do some math, in many cases. For recreational and medicinal consumers, the standard unit of measurement will be a gram, with most amounts being simply measured in the context of a 28-gram ounce.
Sure, there are a lot of different amounts and measurements involved, but wait, there’s more! Now each of those different amounts and measurements will have its own price, and it won’t necessarily be nice even multiples of the previous.
That’s the good part about buying more than the smallest quantities at one time, you can drive down your price per gram considerably with larger amounts. There are always the folks who like to buy a gram at a time or get grams of a bunch of different strains that they can use as a variety pack, and that’s just fine as well.
Generally speaking, your measurements will go from a single gram to an eighth which is the smallest fractional-ounce “bag” that is generally sold. From there you’ve got your quarter-ounces, half-ounces, and full ounces. Most states with medical or recreational adult-use laws.
The only other measurement we’ll cover larger than that will be the quarter-pound. So buckle up, you’re going to learn everything you could want to know about measuring and buying weed.
Grams
Here’s our launchpad to the clouds, the gram. The gram is the smallest amount of weed you can buy without being a pain in the ass, and most dispensaries will not sell anything less unless it’s a preroll. A single gram is enough for about two reasonably-sized joints.
How Much Is A Gram Of Weed?
There are 28 grams in an ounce, making a gram 1/28 of a full ounce. A gram will fit easily in the palm of your hand and will be smaller than a half-dollar, in most cases.
What Slang Terms Are Used For Grams?
Common slang terms for a gram are usually “dime bag” or occasionally “sawbuck”.
You will find out soon enough that there is an incredible amount of slang, jargon, and neologisms in the cannabis world. There is literally an entire subculture of cannabis enthusiasts, and that in turn has basically created its own language around it.
In most cases, it isn’t crucial that you know and understand 100% of the seemingly endless jargon that comes at you. You will learn some basics here, and the rest you should be able to easily figure out from context. Worst case scenario, ask someone knowledgeable. If nothing else, the cannabis community is accomodating and encouraging, and you should get a hassle-free answer.
What Is A Dime Bag?
A dime bag, or dime sack, is the smallest common unit of weed that you can buy either in dispensaries or elsewhere. A dime bag is simply a single gram of weed, but it’s usually used more in the “pre-legal-use” states, where the actual amount can fluctuate. In many areas, a dime bag is simply ten dollars worth of whatever weed is available.
How Much Is A Dime Bag?
Usually, a dime is a gram of “mids” or similar for $10. This is what it’s been across the nation fairly consistently for many years. One gram, acceptable quality but nothing that’ll knock your socks off, for ten bucks. But again, as mentioned, a dime bag is not exactly a “dispensary product” and as such may vary and quality and quantity, but usually the price of a “dime” will remain constant.
How Much Does A Gram Cost?
Pricing is up to the market, generally speaking. However, in a dispensary setting in an adult-use state, you will be looking at a range of prices depending on quality. The average will be between $12 and $20, in most cases, running from mid-shelf to top-shelf.
The big variable in the pricing is the tax, many dispensaries in Colorado, for example, price their weed with the tax figured in, so the price on the menu is what you pay. This isn’t the case in all locations, however, and some states, like Illinois, enact absolutely brutal taxes on their weed based on the potency.
Dubs
Dubs are a waning unit of cannabis measurement and can be used interchangeably, (albeit confusingly) in some regions. While to some people they are the same, historically speaking there has always been a separation between the two
How Many Grams Are In A Dub?
A dub sack is usually a 2-gram bag of weed. The actual quantities can vary, but often not the price. You may find a lighter dub for the same price, but they will usually always cost you the same amount.
What Does A Dub Look Like?
While not a big quantity, a dub in your hand certainly feels much more substantial if you are used to buying grams all the time. On the other hand, if you buy more and are only getting a dub to hold you over until your regular order, it will definitely feel a little thin in your palm. You should get about 4-6 joints from your dub, or maybe 2-3 blunts depending on your rolling.
How Much Is A Dub?
In the vast majority of cases, no matter how much weed is actually in the bag, your dub sack will cost you $20. The amount in the bag will usually depend on the market value of the weed in the bag or the prevailing market conditions in your area.
In short, a dub is any $20 bag of decent weed, you shouldn’t be looking at a bag of schwag for this. In some areas, particularly the big national metro areas, you will be getting about a gram and a half for your twenty bucks. Some places may be more, others even less, the market and your distance from the source can factor in heavily in some situations.
Eighths
Here we have the eighth, and your official entry into fractional-ounce measurement, congrats! This is where you can really leverage your money a bit more effectively to get better deals. It’s cheaper than getting grams and dubs all the time, but still not the best value you can get. Let’s take a look.
What Slang Terms Are Used For Eighths?
More slang, here we go. While the official name is usually the one you’ll find that people use, there are also a number of variations and slang terms that you might encounter. Most are very similar, eighth, eighter, or similar. If you feel like they might not be talking about an eighth, just ask.
How Many Grams Are In An Eighth?
There are 3.5 grams in an eighth. It is exactly ⅛ of a 28-gram ounce. This is what you should expect, at a minimum, from anyone you’re dealing with. Many dispensaries will offer 4-gram eighths as promotional offers to draw in customers and incentivize buying more at once.
How much is an eighth?
This will depend heavily on the area where you’re sampling prices, but the most common prices for an eighth are going to be between $25 and $50. As you can see, even if you are paying $20 per gram, an eighth is still a better deal since you get an extra half gram more than you would have otherwise. If you are able to get an eighth for $30-$40 as in many legal retain markets, that can drive your price per gram down to below $10.
Quarters
Now we start getting into some pretty respectably large bags of weed. We’re talking “last you a good minute” bags. A quarter-ounce is a pretty bulky bag for those that have only ever been in gramtown or bought by the eighth. This is your first doubling, since a quarter is double an eighth, and it’s where things start to get awesome.
What Slang Terms Are Used For Quarters?
People will usually never refer to a quarter formally as a quarter-ounce, but they will commonly be referred to as quarters, or in some situations, a “quad”. There are certainly some regional differences when it comes to slang terms for quarters, but you will generally not encounter them outside of that region.
How Many Grams Are In A quarter ounce?
There are 7 grams in one-quarter of an ounce. This is where most average people stop measuring their weed in how many joints or blunts they can roll with it, and start measuring their bag by how long it lasts them. Many people will simply say something similar to “a quarter will last me a week”.
How Much Is A quarter?
Just like usual, local factors will weigh heavily on the market price of a quarter. You can expect to spend anywhere from about $50 on the low end, to about $70, for some serious gourmet stuff. This will depend greatly on the legal market, the supply and demand, and of course local taxes.
Half-Ounces
Here we’ve got a pretty hefty bag of herb. Halves are party-pleasers if they’re obtained for special occasions, and can last the average smoker a couple of weeks in many cases. A half should give you at least a week of smooth sailing, up to three if you are a light smoker or one that can ration really well.
What Slang Terms Are Used For A Half-Ounce?
There aren’t a ton of slang terms for a half. You’ll probably hear half, half-o, or a half-zip. There are likely more, but they are more regional and often will not be understood elsewhere.
How Many Grams Are In A Half-Ounce?
As a full one-half of an ounce, your half should have 14 grams in it, and not a nugget less. Again, this is not a bag that you are buying while you’re measuring things in individual joints.
How Much Is A Half-Ounce?
A half should run you anywhere from $100 to $140 for some super top-tier designer brand smoke. In some dispensaries, they’ll run clean-out sales, where you can get a half-ounce of bag-bottoms and smalls for $80-$90, so that’s an even bigger chance to increase your weed value.
Ounces
The big boy, the full ounce. In most legal states this is one of the limit amounts for possession or single purchase. In some areas, you can physically have more at home, but you can only buy one ounce at a time from the dispensaries. The reason for this is that in many jurisdictions, having more than an ounce at one time is a potential indication of intent to distribute.
What Slang Terms Are Used For An Ounce?
There are quite a few slang terms for an ounce, and you may hear a number of them. Zip, O, o-zone, onion, the list goes on.
How Many Grams Are In An Ounce?
There are 28 grams in an ounce. For the average smoker, an ounce should last at least 2-3 weeks, if not a month.
How Much Is An Ounce?
In most markets, an ounce will cost you between $150 and $300 per ounce. You can expect closer to the low end of that for mids or low-grade dank. For the good-good, like designer strains or private reserve quality, expect to pay $300 or even more.
Quarter-Pounds
The only reason we mention this is that it could be applicable in a caretaker-caregiver situation. You won’t be able to walk into a dispensary and buy a QP, though.
What Slang Terms Are Used For A Quarter-Pound?
Slang will include, QP, Qupe, or variations.
How Many Ounces And Grams Are In A QP?
With a total of four 28-gram ounces, there are 112 grams in a QP.
How Much Is A QP?
Depending on the location, a QP of cannabis can run you from about $800 in markets that are flush, to $1,250 or more in states where the supply may be more limited.Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabisLeave a commenton Weed Measurements Guide: Marijuana Quantities, Weights & Prices
How To Vape THC And CBD: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide To Vaping
You’ve probably heard other smokers talking about it, and you’ve undoubtedly seen it referenced online and in conversation threads. Vaping. It’s a method of consuming your cannabis that is a relatively recent development when compared to other consumption methods.
While it can seem intensely complicated at first glance, particularly if you are newer to the cannabis space in general, there are some resources that will get you on the road to making an informed step into beginning to vape your THC and CBD. Luckily, you’re reading one of those resources right now.
Vaping can be approached simply and can mean getting more bang for your buck from a lot of various cannabis preparations. We’re going to give you all the information you need to decide what you want to vape, how you want to vape it, and how much you’re going to need.
What Is A Vaporizer?
Let’s make sure we give you all the background you need and talk a little bit about how a vaporizer physically functions. The generic definition of a vaporizer is “a device that generates a particular substance in the form of a vapor”, which is usually used in the medicinal context of inhalation. That probably simplifies it tons, right? Clear as mud.
Basically, a vaporizer as you will experience it, is a small device often handheld or slightly larger tabletop models, that heat a substance to its boiling point. At this point, just like the steam off of a pot of boiling water, the substance leaves as vapor and can be inhaled.
With the handheld units, there is often an incredibly tiny heating coil that is wrapped around an absorbent cotton material that acts as a wick. The coil heats the wick gently and allows the substance to evaporate from the wick.
The Evolution Of Vaporizers
Vaporization is not a new technology and has been in use for more than half a century in various forms. People use them daily for things like vaporizing essential oils for their home and health, or in the form of mentholated ointments and rubs that are aimed at reducing congestion and other ailments.
Most of these units are larger and require a water tank to be filled in order to produce the steam or vapor. They often require significant amounts of power as well, which means they have little to no portability and must be plugged in to operate.
In the ‘60s there was an electric cigarette invented, initially to help smokers wean themselves off of tobacco but it was never mass-produced for a number of reasons, and the concept was shelved. Then in the invention of the vape pen at the beginning of the 21st century ushered in a whole new world of vapor administration.
While initially used for nicotine delivery, it was only a matter of time before someone in the cannabis industry looked at the concept and like many of us do at some point or another said, “I’ll bet I can use that for my weed.” And the THC and CBD vape was born, changing the face of cannabis consumption.
How Do Vaporizers Work?
There are many different types of vaporizers, but for brevity’s sake, we’re only going to be focusing on the ones that are most commonly used for THC and CBD. The basic principle of a vape is that it gently heats a substance to a precise temperature range, allowing it to evaporate. This prevents combustion and greatly reduces the number of contaminants being inhaled with cannabinoids.
The vapor conversion and self-contained portability are the primary factors that define many vaporizers. As mentioned, most of the handheld units utilize an internal wick and coil system that allows the absorbent material to give more even evaporation with less stress on the coil.
This gentle heat undercuts the heat from your Bic by almost half. When you spark a bowl, you are setting that herb on fire, and inhaling all of the stuff that gets produced during combustion. The average lighter burns at about 450℉, but your vape will be considerably lower, often below 290℉.
Not only does this help keep out many of the undesirable by-products of combustion, such as tar, ash, and even some carcinogens, but it also helps preserve the cannabis you have and helps you to get more effect for your dollar than using fire and combustion.
THC and CBD are both destroyed by excessive heat, so maintaining a lower temperature can help you get more doses from your stash than previously. In addition to all of these benefits, you are inhaling a cooler substance, meaning your hits will not feel as harsh or hot as the hits you would take from a pipe or a joint.
Vaping THC & CBD
So let’s get into the meat and potatoes of it, so to speak. Before you hit the button on that first hit, you will need to gather some things and get prepared. You may already have your vape and maybe even your cannabis THC or CBD extract ready, but there are still a couple of things to consider before you jump in. Let’s take a look.
Decide On Your Preparation
First, you will need to figure out how you will be consuming your THC or CBD since that will influence the type of vape you will need. There are several preparations, from the traditional dry herb to cannabis concentrates, and on into tinctures and distillates which are the most potent forms.
Dry Herb
This is what most people who are already smokers like to start with, unfortunately, many dry herb vapes are not compatible with other preparations. If this is your preference, you can get a vape with a special bucket, commonly ceramic or titanium, that holds the herb and heats up.
Dry herb is often best vaped when not on the move. This is because many dry herb vapes are not able to easily deal with vibrations and being turned upside down. There is also the drawback of having to either vape your bud twice, or vape it then smoke it since the dry herb is often unable to have all of the THC or CBD vaped from the herb in one go.
Concentrates
Concentrates is a fairly broad brush used to describe a number of cannabis preparations that are made from cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes that are extracted from the plant material. Concentrates as a whole are very potent, so be careful with dosing and know that a little can go a very long way.
- Shatter – Shatter is a very sticky extract that is made from pressing the dried and cured plant material until the heat and pressure force the melted resins from the plant material and onto a sheet for collection. While incredibly sticky and gooey when warm, once the extract is allowed to cool in thinner sheets, it can be snapped and broken, or shattered.
- Crumble/Honeycomb – Crumble or honeycomb wax is often created through solvent extraction. Solvent extraction uses a solvent, such as butane or supercritical CO2, to flash freeze the cannabinoids and separate them from the processed plant matter. Once this solvent soup is separated from the plant, the solvent is removed either through natural evaporation or vacuum purging. The result is a type of wax that is very light, airy, and crumbly.
- Oil – THC and CBD oil are made to be as pure THC or CBD concentrates as possible, and to allow for much larger dosing than over vaping preparations. This is an incredibly popular way to consume Rick Simpson oil, aside from ingesting it directly as an edible. Vaping your cannabis oil can help you maintain a steady dosage throughout the day. Oils can also be dabbed in a rig to provide more vaporization for larger doses.
Tinctures & Distillates
Tinctures and distillates are very similar in that they are a homogenous mixture of THC or CBD, terpenes, and more, in an oil or glycerin solution. Tinctures, in the vaping sense, are much more of a “liquid” than oil and are frequently used in vape juice, also known as e-liquid or e-juice.
They also are the preparation that many vapers prefer, who have their own separate tank and vape unit, since they can be used to fill tanks over and over if made at home. This eliminates the need to continually buy vape carts.
Decide On Your Device
Now that you have determined what type of cannabis preparation you are going to use to vape your THC and CBD, you will need to pick out a vape device to begin your journey.
Disposable Vape Pens & Refills
These are usually the place where new vapers start, particularly in the THC and CBD space. These are pre-filled carts and vape batteries that are meant to allow the user to vape a single tank of concentrate, then throw them away. They are available in a huge variety of strains and flavors, but they are ultimately the plastic water bottles of the cannabis vape space, and while convenient are eclipsed by so many better products.
Prefilled Carts
These are great for getting your THC or CBD dose while in a super-convenient way. The upside is that while convenient, they do not contribute to e-waste like disposable pens. They also are usually a little cheaper than their disposable counterparts and can be used on any standard vape battery. The downside is that they are still disposable, and contribute to waste.
Dab Rigs
Here is where many people get their vape on. The glass dab rigs that you have seen people taking ridiculously large hits from, can be used just the same by beginners. You will need some extra accouterments, such as a small butane torch and a dab tool. These are a bit more complicated to operate, but there are some great videos on YouTube that show how to get a perfect vape without combustion each time.
Tabletop Vapes
These are snazzy electronic vapes that can often take larger amounts of concentrate at once. They are also a bit more expensive. Many of them use a bag that is inflated with the vapor and then passed around for multiple hits. These units will need an outlet to plug into, and somewhere comfy to sit.
Refillable Vape Tanks
This is where your initial investment can pay off handsomely. By buying a personal vape mod, which is the battery itself, and a high-quality tank, you can use just about any sort of vape concentrate out there. Since you can fill your own tank, you can buy bulk distillate, oils, and other concentrates, and use them on your own. After the first fill or two, it becomes a very simple process and allows you the ultimate degree of versatility.
Decide On Your Dose
By now you should have your weed concentrate and your vape ready to go. Now determining your dose will be largely a trial and error process. Your concentrates and distillates will often come already pre-mixed and ready to vape, so all you will need to do is put it in the tank, hit the button, and go.
Many people find success in keeping a dosage journal in order to track the approximate dosage and schedule that will make up your THC or CBD therapy. This will also allow you to see an approximate number of doses per refill or per cart, and allow you to monitor that going forward.
Whether you are going to be vaping THC or CBD, you should begin with a measurable dose and give it about 15-30 minutes to allow the effects to set in. For example, you take a 5-second vape hit at 4:20 pm, and then at 4:50 pm, evaluate how you feel. If you feel a little “too high”, take a 3-second vape hit for your next dose, whenever you feel that would be appropriate. CBD dosing will work largely the same way, though CBD can take longer to set in.Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabis1 Commenton How To Vape THC And CBD: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide To Vaping
How to Choose Cannabis Seeds for Healthy Plants
Starting growing cannabis can be incredibly exciting and can give you a sense of freedom like almost nothing else. But now that you’ve decided you want to grow, the real work starts.
The first thing you need to decide what kind of seeds you want to grow, and where you’re going to get them. This is arguably one of the most important choices you will make since your plants can only be as good as their genetics.
There is a universe of options out there, however, so trying to choose seeds without some sort of basic idea of what you are going to be looking for will only be an exercise in frustration and intimidation.
That’s where this article can help, hopefully. By considering these factors and thinking about your garden in terms of what you want from it, you should be able to make an educated decision on your seed and strain choice.
Should I Buy My Seeds Or Grow/Gather Them?
Seeds are only produced by the female of the cannabis species, and only after a male pollinates them. In order to grow your seeds, you will need to have stable genetics on both sides of the cross, and you will need to be ok with the large degree of chance that goes into it.
Seeds grown this way may look and act like either parent, both parents, neither parent or even any of the ancestors in between. It can take several generations of backcrossing to get stable seeds that grow predictable strain representatives.
Gathering your seeds can be much easier since you can find them here and there in the cannabis you consume. Another upside is the cost, you already paid for them when you paid for the flower they came in, so bonus! The drawback here is that they are often not stabilized genetics either, and may not give you the same product you just enjoyed.
Buying your seed stock is often considered the best option for beginners. Not only are you getting a stabilized strain, with a predictable yield, known growing requirements, and a standardized flowering time. This takes all of the guesswork out of your first garden.
Botching your first grow because you got a strain way outside your league and weren’t prepared for it can be disappointing and discouraging. Likewise getting random seeds and having no idea what they need or what you’re getting can make the results underwhelming and feel like a waste.
The Look Of A Healthy Seed
When you’re looking at seeds, you will see a lot of variation. There will be dark seeds, pale sees, seeds with stripes and spots, and more. You want to stay away from seeds that have any green on their halves since this is a sign that they are premature and will not germinate.
The size will not matter much, healthy plants come from both small and large seeds. There is some anecdotal evidence that indica strains have larger seeds, as well as seeds that are darker or more heavily pattered, but most strains are hybrids to some extent anyway, so visual determinations are nearly impossible.
What About Feminized Seeds?
Female plants are the ones that produce the flowers that we all know and love, so why would anyone want the possibility of male seeds? Well, like many other things, it often comes down to price. For example, if Strain A is available in non-feminized seeds $100 for a ten pack, the feminized versions would likely be between $200 and $300 for the same quantity.
Most people don’t mind culling a few males, particularly if it’s their first garden. This provides the opportunity to learn how to sex your plants, as well as a significant break on the cost of the genetics for your first run. Feminized seeds are geared toward growers that know what they want, how to grow it, and want the least amount of wasted time.
Consider The Effects You Want
Indicas are the heavy, sedative strains, and are good for inflammation and pain relief, but tend to lock you into the couch. Sativas are upbeat, energetic, and cerebral strains that are ideal for creative workers, and those who need to shake off a little mild depression.
Decide On Indica, Sativa, Or A Hybrid
The space you have can impact your choices as well. If you choose a sativa, or a sativa heavy hybrid, expect tall and slender plants that may hit 8 ft+ in the flowering stage, and they also have much longer flowering periods. Indicas are often short, stout, bushy plants with incredibly pungent smells, that can go through their flowering stage in two months or less in many cases.
Pick A Strain Or Two
Don’t get too crazy when it comes time to shop, I know there are a lot of strains that are just begging you to grow them. Pick one, or two, and make sure you get down the fundamentals. Then you can branch out and start trying things. The big takeaway here is to not spend more money than you need to on your first grow. You’re learning, and you have to expect some mistakes.
Seed Preservation
If you find a strain or few that you like, or maybe your situation suddenly changed and you can’t grow, you can always save your seeds. Cannabis seeds stay viable for years, just keep them cool, dry, and in the dark, and you should be able to pick up where you left off when you’re ready.
Choosing The Best Cannabis Seeds For Your Grow
One of the best ways to get some reliable genetics for your garden is to leverage a respected distributor or seed bank. Not only will they organize all of their available strains, but they will also give detailed growing information so that you can grow your best flower. They will also have a detailed list of the effects of each strain, so you don’t go in blind.Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabisLeave a commenton How to Choose Cannabis Seeds for Healthy Plants
How Much to Tip the Medical Marijuana Delivery Guy
If you’re the kind of person who needs a prescription for medical marijuana, you know how convenient delivery to your home can be. This came in especially handy in the dark days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many of us were locked in our houses with no hope of getting out. When we were in need, the delivery guys came through- it makes sense we should show a little gratitude.
But how much is too much? How much is too little? Aside from the obvious and nauseating joke answer ($4.20), there are a few good rules of thumb for what you should and shouldn’t be tipping the medical marijuana delivery guy.
Go too low, and you could peeve the guy who decides how fast your delivery gets to you. Go too high, and your wallet could end up feeling light. There’s a fine science to tipping delivery guys, and we’ve got all the details right here.
How Much is Too Little?
Valentine’s day, Christmas, and waiting for a delivery- just a few times you’ve probably asked this question. At restaurants and bars, we’re apt to tip a certain amount of money most every time, because our orders will stay the same for the most part.
When we’re ordering for delivery, however, we’re going to encounter a few different factors.
For one, delivering food to a table or drinks to a bar just a few steps away is a whole lot less expensive than driving order to a house. Driving entails gas, possible damages to a car, and in certain cases, lots of time. Carrying an order to a table is just a few simple steps.
So, what does all of this add up to? Well, before we get into what a fair tip is, we have to remember that delivery drivers often don’t get paid minimum wage. So, if we don’t tip high enough our drivers won’t make anywhere close to a fair wage.
Money’s No Excuse
Oftentimes people use the old excuse- I didn’t have enough money to tip. This, one hundred percent of the time, is completely false. If you have money to get delivery, you have money to tip. Cannabis delivery is a luxury, which means you have money to spare, which means you have enough to tip. So don’t skimp out.
Drivers tend to get paid between six to eight dollars an hour, on the expectation that they’ll get tips. This is not ideal, but what it means is that you are responsible for a portion of their pay. Imagine if you went to your boss for a paycheck and only got half because he ‘didn’t have enough money’ to pay you.
In addition to this, cannabis delivery guys shoulder the burden for gas, insurance, repairs, and every other car-related expense.
Don’t Go Below 5
Therefore, the kind of tipping you do at a restaurant is going to be a lot different from the kind of tipping you do for a delivery guy. 15% may be an acceptable tip at a restaurant, where delivery to a table just involves a short walk, but with home cannabis delivery, it’s a no-go.
Percent tips aren’t even really the best way to gauge tipping, because no matter what you ordered, the prices of gas, repairs, and the time it takes to get to your house, stay the same.
Therefore, even if you only spent about five dollars, you should still probably tip an even five. This will get your driver above minimum wage for the hour, compensate him for the time it took to get to your home, and give him money for gas.
When to Use a Percentage
Many waiters and waitresses stress out over tip percentages, getting upset if a customer goes anywhere below fifteen percent. This is because waiters tend to get paid even less per hour than delivery drivers. Thus, you should make sure you’re always paying a good percentage when tipping at a restaurant.
With cannabis delivery drivers, you have a bit more wiggle room. As someone who once drove delivery, I can tell you that seeing a $5 tip on a $30 order didn’t make me too upset despite the fact that it was only a 16% tip. It got me over minimum wage for the hour and gave me a little wiggle room, so it was fine.
However, taking out an order totaling $70 or more and getting so low a tip started to get a little annoying. With medical marijuana, orders usually come in little packs. Therefore, carrying capacity is not usually a big issue.
Still, delivery guys get a little annoyed seeing someone who can afford to drop $100 on marijuana, but not $9 on the delivery guy who made it possible. You might win a little sympathy considering the fact that it’s medicinal, but a lot of delivery guys are probably using medicinal marijuana, too, and they all have time to do this favor for you.
So, when you get above the $40 range, you should probably start paying as a percentage. a 20-25% tip is more than enough to get someone over their minimum wage, pay for their expenses, and maybe leave a little over for some delivery of their own. It’s such a simple thing to do, and unlike during the COVID days, you can’t excuse yourself from a tip by saying you absolutely had to get delivery.
Of course, this all changes if you’re somehow immobile, in which case a delivery guy’s sympathy will kick in. We understand if you can’t work, can’t make money, and have to get delivery.
All in All
All in all, the only real excuse for not tipping is if you’re immobile and don’t have any option besides delivery. In normal cases, cannabis delivery recipients should tip around $5, and 20-25% of their order when the overall price gets above $40. There’s a little wiggle room there but never go below $5 if you care. Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabis DeliveryLeave a commenton How Much to Tip the Medical Marijuana Delivery Guy

There are so many different types of marijuana on the market and so many different ways to consume it. It isn’t as traditional as it once was. Now you have a whole slew of opportunities and choices when you are looking to partake in weed. Which one is right for you and how do you go about using it? That is a bit more complicated, especially since more choices mean more options. It’s not as overwhelming as it may seem though. Plus, deciding which route is right for you is a whole lot of fun.
The great thing about the modern world of marijuana is that your local dispensary will have access to all the different forms listed below. Keep in mind that some are strong than others. When you create a different form of marijuana, you often create a stronger level of THC than you are used to. That means that you will want to gradually enjoy each of these forms. Remember that different forms of weed will provide different highs and experiences. However, keep an open mind because there is a chance you will find your new favorite form of marijuana.
Flower
While it is true that there are so many more choices when it comes to marijuana consumption today, there is still this time-tested, traditional, old-fashioned approach: flower. Also known as a bud or any other number of 60s-era nicknames, the flower has been popular for decades for good reason: it works and is easy to do.
Even with all the new types of ways of enjoying marijuana, the flower is still the most popular. Why? Because it is simple to do and there are many different ways to partake in flower. You can smoke a joint, a blunt, a bong, or any other sort of rig that can get you high. But there is more to flower than that. Modern dispensaries provide products such as prerolls: tight, hand-made joints that are crafted by a weed business or employee. This takes all the hard work out of smoking flowers. All you need to do is light up a preroll, the rest is done for you.
Of course, you can also use a vaporizer, bong, or any other sort of device that has been used for generations now. This means you will need to grind the flower, break it down and load it into the pipe or bong. But that isn’t that hard either.
In fact, the only tricky part about using flowers is that you need to keep them in good condition. Like any plant, marijuana needs to stay in the right temperature and ideal conditions. If you don’t treat flowers with the utmost care, it isn’t going to last. You need to invest in airtight containers if you want to make this form of marijuana last.
Shatter
If you are looking to enjoy marijuana in its purest and strongest form, you might want to look into shatter. What is shatter? It is a cannabis concentrate created by using a combination of cannabis plants and solvents. Shatter looks unique and different, almost like shattered glass (hence the name), and can provide quite an experience for the user.
Shatter has a high level of THC in it and that is something to keep in mind because it can be a lot for someone who isn’t very familiar with marijuana and its effects. The best course of action with shatter – and any type of marijuana you dab – is to start small and gradually progress and use more and more over time. Otherwise, your first experience with shatter won’t be a good one.
As mentioned, this brittle form of marijuana is usually best enjoyed by those who like dabbing. That means you will need a dab rig, similar to a bong but built with the strongest material that is capable of withstanding a strong flame. Dabbing enthusiasts will tell you that lighting your rig is a special talent and perfecting that will perfect the taste and flavor and experience of shatter.
Ironically, heat can be the downfall of shatter. You only want this form of marijuana to get hot when you are actively consuming it. If it gets too hot at any other point, it is not going to work. Therefore, you need to keep shatter safe and sound in containers far away from any extreme heat. You will see that most dispensaries keep a careful eye on their shatter supply. If you keep it safe and cool, you will be able to really enjoy it when the time is right.
Wax
Although it doesn’t have the nicest, most attractive name, wax is one of the best ways to enjoy marijuana. You might not think you would like something referred to as wax, but one time with this form of weed will make you a true believer.
Wax is a potent cannabis concentrate that has been through a process that has crystallized and solidified its oil. It is called wax because, well, it looks like wax. Some forms of wax look hard and solid, almost like shatter, some forms are soft and gooey and often called “budder.”
Wax is strong, strong stuff. The THC content of wax can range from 60% to 80% and can provide a powerful experience for the user. A little bit of wax definitely goes a long way and is usually recommended for the most experienced smoker.
Wax is a form of marijuana that you use with your dab rig. But, unlike shatter, wax is easier to use because it doesn’t break apart into smaller shards. The wax stays consistent and in one piece, meaning that it is far easier to load up into your rig and enjoy.
Others use wax via a vape pen. Pens are becoming increasingly popular lately because they can provide a powerful form of weed in a small package. The pen also gets incredibly warm when you use it, allowing you to take the pleasure of certain forms of marijuana that require high heat. Wax is one of those forms. Therefore, a vape pen is a great way to use wax.
Live Resin
Most cannabis products are created from dried or cured plant material. That is a common way to create most of the marijuana products on the market. However, that isn’t what happens with live resin. Live resin is called “live” because it is created from a fresh plant that hasn’t been run through the drying or curing process.
By creating live resin via this method, it is a strong, natural, powerful form of cannabis. Proponents of live resin claim that it is the more authentic way to enjoy marijuana and maintains its full personality, power, and essence. Live resin has a higher proportion of essential oils in it because it doesn’t go through the typical process that so many marijuana forms endure. With these essential oils, the live resin can provide users with different and distinct flavors and aromas.
Live resin comes in all sorts of different forms, including wax, shatter, sap, sugar, or budder. So it looks like a lot of other different types of marijuana but it really isn’t.
While live resin will give you a great high and a wonderful, strong experience, it is a bit trickier to store. You need to preserve the quality and potency of live resin but keeping it away from light, moisture, heat, and even open air. That means there are a lot of things to avoid when you want to keep live resin strong. It is best to keep it in an airtight durable container but your local smoke shop should be able to provide that for you. It’s worth it because live resin is a type of marijuana you will want to become quite familiar with.
Kief
Kief is a great form of marijuana and one that is easy to get a hold of. Why? Because kief is a byproduct of marijuana. If you have weed, you will have kief. It is all about how to collect and use it correctly.
Essentially, kief is just accumulated resin glands. What is that? It is small, sprinkle-like pieces of discarded marijuana. It contains all the qualities and potent terpenes of marijuana because it is marijuana. It’s just the stuff that gets lost and shredded when you are using a grinder.
A grinder is an important part of preparing and using marijuana. When you have one, you will get an excess piece of marijuana in the bottom of the grinder. Most people think of this as trash and discard it. However, that is kief and it is a powerful form of marijuana that should be enjoyed by users. You can sprinkle kief on a bowl of marijuana, joints, blunts, hookah, or even use it in foods that you are baking. Some people use kief to create cannabutter. Others create something called moon rocks or use them in their tea or coffee. The great thing about kief is that it is easy to get your hands on if you have a grinder and it is able to be used in a wide variety of things.
So when you use a grinder, make sure you don’t throw away the kief. There are so many ways you can employ that for future use. Kief should never be tossed in the trash.
Edibles
Edibles are some of the most self-explanatory but lesser-used means of consumption. Most edible snack items are made with an infused material like butter or margarine, and there’s a bit of a process to complete to produce that effect.
Edible marijuana is bud to ah has been baked until fragrant, steeped in melted butter or warm oil, and then strained to remove the plant debris. This removes the chemicals from the marijuana and deposits it into the medium that holds it.
A lot of edible snacks are things like gummy and harder candies, pastries and confections, infused beverages, and other snacks. The possibilities for edibles are only limited by the infusion method used, so anything that uses butter can be made with infused butter and be marijuana edible with the same effects.
A drawback of edibles is that they can be difficult to dose and keep track of. Some folks might not feel effects for up to 15-30 minutes after eating, leading them to eat more and get way too high. After a while, a frequent consumer will start to learn the signs, but the learning curve can be a bit of a challenge.
Topicals
Topical marijuana treatments can be found in almost every drugstore across the globe. CBD oil and THC-infused balms can make big differences in a day-to-day user’s life. Oils, salves, bath bombs, lotions, and more are all ways of using marijuana topically.
One drawback to this method is that not all of them will give you the same high effect. THC is among the most potent chemicals to give that high effect, and topical treatments are meant for muscle pain management and soreness.
Conclusion
All in all, there are dozens of ways marijuana can be consumed and used. From smoking to oils, the possibilities of marijuana use are growing by the day. It’s important to do your research before you partake and to prioritize your safety and the safety of others before consuming marijuana and marijuana products.
Keep your equipment clean and your bud safe by choosing the method right for you and your group, and as always ensure that your marijuana use is not overdone. Author seo kingPosted onCategoriesCannabisLeave a commenton How To: Consume Different Types of Marijuana Products
Cannabis Delivery: How to Get Cannabis Delivered to Your Door
In a world where anything and everything can be delivered to your door with just a click of a button, marijuana and cannabis products are definitely not the outlier. Modern technology has made it so that food, drinks, clothes, and now weed can be ordered online and shipped within days without a second thought.
This has been an incredible contrast to the days of yesteryear where a dispensary or the guy down the street were the only options for marijuana purchase, and bringing it to you? Forget about it! Some folks today still make trips across the state to get their favorite marijuana and cannabis products. Needless to say, folks used to the old way of doing things have been blown away by the availability of marijuana and the change of tide in legislation, with no end to the trend in sight. Growth in options, market and availability have made for some really cool breakthroughs for friendly competition and have led to some of the best options for buying the common smoker has seen to date.
As it stands right now, cannabis delivery works a lot like any other online ordering service. An order is placed from a specific retailer, payment is made upfront and then the product is delivered or shipped to your door. Generally, for products like marijuana, the faster the delivery the better it is.
We’ve created a general guide to review the process of ordering cannabis for delivery, how to do it, where to go, and what to expect. Just like with any other online shopping experience, be sure that if you’re ordering online, your information is protected and encrypted since prepayment is regularly required. No one wants to lose money!
Foreword
Recreational cannabis and cannabis product delivery is not available in all states and US territories. Though the legislation surrounding marijuana, both recreational and medicinal, has changed dramatically in the last decade, state distribution is still a system very much in the throes of reform. The market for recreational marijuana is controversial to say the least, and not a lot of time has been spent trying to come up with more convenient ways to distribute recreational marijuana in states where cannabis has just been legalized. Delivery systems currently only exist in six states, with the possibility of more on the way.
California, Oregon, Nevada, Massachusetts, Maine, and Michigan have all legalized recreational marijuana delivery-based distribution systems. Not all of them have active delivery options yet, but they sure are working towards them. As the year progresses, more and more states are projected to join the legalization bandwagon and the delivery option spike.
States with medicinal marijuana delivery however are pre-established and have been made better with the arrival of COVID-19. The need for contactless delivery of medicinal marijuana has done nothing but increase in the last year, and may show promise for other delivery options later down the line. Currently, the states that have medicinal marijuana delivery options are Arizona, California, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, New Jersey, North Dakota, and Oregon. This is also projected to increase as more states legalize and decriminalize marijuana use.
Where to Order
Depending on where you live in the United States, the delivery of marijuana products might not yet be legal. That’s common since only a handful of states have legalized the sale, production, and distribution of marijuana. Assuming you’re here under the most straight-edge pretenses (we don’t judge), you live in one of the legal regions. Your options are going to be based on the local market, and higher-density population areas are more likely to have delivery services than others.
To weed out (yes, yes, a bud pun) the bad apples and get legitimately quality marijuana, the best thing to do is locate a service like PurplePenthouse or Leafly. These services act as an information database to locate and determine the closest service to you. They don’t guarantee that services are available in your area, but it doesn’t hurt to check.
To further explain, PurplePenthouse is an online retailer that does deliveries in DC and NY so far, but is looking to expand!
Leafly gives options based on your current location, the product you’re looking for, the deals that are currently up, and a multitude of other factors. Users of Leafly can punch in a strain or a product and be met with a handful of sellers who have that product and can easily compare prices.
Once found, contact can be made with the seller to set up the order and get your stuff!
Local dispensaries can also be a great resource for ordering online or by phone. Remember, all legal sellers are state-regulated and will ask to see an ID for age verification and to ensure you’re eligible for purchase. If ordering for medicinal purposes, a weed allowance card might be used to identify you and your cannabis needs, so be sure you have that when ordering. In general, online retailers and dispensaries alike will need to ensure you are who you say you are before an order can be completed, so it’s best to get that out of the way first.
Retailers can be found seemingly everywhere, from dispensaries to distribution companies. Do your research and preplan before you make any payments.
What to Expect
Sellers found online generally have a ton of orders and sometimes a bit in the way of competition. Because of this, pricing might be higher or lower depending on the availability in your local area. Supply and demand mean that if your area doesn’t have a lot of options, the individual prices might be higher. Be sure to shop around as much as possible to get the best quality product for the lowest price.
You can expect to have a thorough check of identification prior to purchase, and prior to pick up or drop off. Your state ID is going to be one of the best tools for this, so be sure yours isn’t expired and you have it with you.
Be on the lookout for sketchy feeling sellers that might ask for personal information that doesn’t pertain to the sale, folks who ask for payment much higher than market value, and another scam like behaviors. Certainly, not all distributors are out for just your cash, but some pretenders can weasel into a profitable market and spoil the party for everyone.
Practice smart online shopping behavior and actively take a role in your online security and safety.
Outside of all of that, another common component of marijuana delivery is the basis through which the delivery is completed. Assuming that it’s legal and supported in your area, some retailers might offer On-demand services similar to food delivery. You can call or order online for delivery on the same day.
Subscription delivery is performed like any other online subscription, where you are charged periodically and the delivery is completed after payment clears. Scheduled delivery exists along the same vein, but isn’t reoccurring normally.
Membership clubs are also similar here, where subscribers can order individual products and services or subscription services. No matter the route that speaks to you, the options for marijuana delivery is completely tailored to your needs and to your experience.
How to Order
It’s important to know the specifics of the retailer you’re purchasing from if they have named products and varied strains. You don’t want to just call any old dispensary and ask for “1 weed please!”. Over time, you might decide on a favorite strain, blend, or shelf level and can make orders based on what you know about the product and the sellers, but for first-time buyers, doing a little bit of digging can help get the product you’re actually looking for.
Just like most online shopping experiences, you want to research the vendor prior to sale, compare prices and settle on one. Once selected, the order has to be officially placed. Generally, orders can be placed via phone or online depending on your chosen vendor’s service options. Some may have a website set up for online purchases, and others prefer a more hands-on approach.
Regardless of how the order is placed, confirmation is key. Most of the time, prepayment is required for delivery options. Your ID might be needed for age verification and to ensure they drop it off to the right person, so be ready to provide that if needed.
Upon delivery, the person might ask to confirm your identity via your ID or confirmation number. These items are important and you may not receive your product without them. Once confirmed, the product you purchased should be released to you for happy consumption.
As it stands right now, delivery is very much a streamlined process and it stands to get better. Cannabis and cannabis-based products can be found online from multiple retailers, but the legitimacy can be called into question. If you have any questions about the delivery process, the products you’re getting, the effects you intend it to have, or any other process questions, be sure to ask your retailer prior to purchase.
Afterword
If you believe for any reason your delivery was unsatisfactory or sketchy at all, be sure to report it to the seller and in online forums. We know it’s not fun to point the finger, especially with sometimes such a taboo topic, but feedback is honestly super helpful for growth. With the market for legal marijuana distribution by means of delivery being as new as it is, we have nowhere to go but up.
Be honest with your sellers about their user interface, delivery method, expectations of service, customer service, and any other aspect of the sale you can think of. If it’s positive, that’s an experience they can use to keep getting better and promote to other clients. If it’s negative, try to be as patient and understanding as possible, but stay honest. They can’t fix what they don’t know is wrong.
Distribution is a tough game, no matter the market. With COVID-19 still a problem even with the recent vaccines, delivery is here to stay and is likely going to become one of the most common methods of buying. You want to be at the forefront of the positive changes that marijuana can bring to our society, and we can all work together to dispel some of the nastier stereotypes of marijuana and its uses.
Conclusion
Delivery of cannabis and marijuana products is quickly becoming a breakthrough market in states and territories open to distribution. Cannabis regulated by the state has offered an incredible economic stimulation that was previously untapped. Legal marijuana offers a way for frequent users to get safe, effective flowers without the unnecessary social pressures and risks involved.
With delivery becoming more and more of daily use for most Americans, cannabis delivery is right around the corner, and a decade from now we might look back on the humble beginnings of marijuana dispensaries and delivery options and lament about the strides we’ve made.
For now, when ordering online, do your research first. Know who you’re buying from, what you’re buying, what it’ll look like, and what the effect should be. Knowing specific product details can help first-time buyers and long-term smokers to make the right choices of bud for them, which of course leads to a much better smoking experience.
With so many strains, products, and delivery options out there, be specific as possible. Unless you’re looking for a surprising blend, (and be specific about that too, let them know you’re looking to experiment!) being ad honed in as you possibly can be can remove any margins of error and frustration that can go along with online shopping. We’ve all seen those expectations versus reality memes, don’t let that be your weed!
As always, be vigilant and safe with your online purchases, take care of yourself and others, and happy smoking!
